Printing spare parts for the human body: science or science fiction?

What if damaged human tissues could be printed on demand? Bioprinting applies 3D printing principles to build biological structures that aim to heal the body. But how close are we to printing replacement organs? Where does reality end and hype begin? In this talk, I will present bioprinting in plain language, separate fact from fiction, and introduce our work on STRONG-UR, a bioprinted implant designed to help reconstruct the male urethra.
